Seafarer 29

Stopped at Fairfax Yacht Club on my way home from work tonight, where I met my Boat Procurement Officer, John Ashton, and a potential donor and his delightful granddaughter, Kaylie. I spent about a half hour checking out the boat, a 1972 Seafarer 29 fixed keel that had been sitting unused for about 10 years. And looked it. I was particularly concerned about spiderweb cracks
in the Fiberglas. Not sure whether they indicate extensive damage, but they would certainly require repair. This boat would take some serious work, and our ship isn’t ready for another high-need boat. Amanda Grace still needs work, and to be moved, and our other boats are in need of maintenance, too. Our scouts have plenty of service hour opportunities without taking on a project of this magnitude.
