The parents of one of my scouts gave me a thoughtful gift last week: a ceramic holiday ornament bearing a photographic likeness of a blue heron. Since our ship is named “Blue Heron,” this is a most appropriate present.
The family’s scout is one with whom I have had the opportunity to work- and get to know for some time, and whose challenges have challenged me to expand my leadership capabilities.
